frequently asked questions

  • What do I get for my entry fee?
    All Crush N' Run 5K finishers will receive a unique finisher’s medal, a Crush N' Run hat that honors $5 crushes on certain days of the year, along with one free Orange Crush at the after-party (must enter by 1:00pm to receive your free Crush). All participants are invited to enjoy the post-race festivities with live music and entertainment from 10:30am 'til 6pm at The Shack on 8th Street! Please wear your race bib to the post-race party, as that will give you free entry into the event.
  • Will I receive a refund if I cannot attend? Can someone else run with my bib?
    No refunds will be given, as proceeds benefit local charities. Bibs/race numbers are non-transferable - no exceptions.
  • Is the Crush N'Run course walker-friendly?
    Yes! There will be plenty of participants who will walk. The course will be open for one and a half hours, until 12:00pm.
  • What are the age limits for Crush N'Run?
    We encourage participants of all ages to participate in the Crush N'Run 5K, and the after-party at the Shack will be open to all ages until 6:00pm. After 6pm, the event is 21+ only. In accordance with state law, only participants ages 21 and older with proper ID will be allowed a complimentary Orange Crush at the after party. Fresh-squeezed orange juice will be available for those who do not care for the complimentary Orange Crush, or are not eligible due to age.
  • What time should I be there?
    We advise you to be at the race by 30 minutes prior to the start time of 10:30am. Please allow plenty of time to find parking and get to your corral at the starting line on time.
  • Where can I park?
    Parking is available throughout the resort area in metered parking spaces, and in the 9th Street Parking Garage at current city rates. Plan on bringing some cash to pay for parking. Nearby parking is likely to fill up early though, so please leave yourself plenty of time in case you have to park far away and walk. We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to carpool, ride your bike (bikes can be locked to the boardwalk), Uber or get dropped off to avoid parking headaches - especially if you plan to enjoy the after party after the race!
  • Is there a dry bag check?
    Yes. You will receive a bag check tag and you will write your bib number on the tag and attach it to your bag when dropping it off. You must pick your dry bag up immediately upon finishing the race. We will not hold dry bags past 1:00pm. Any dry bags not picked up by 1:00pm will be returned to Chix on 7th. The desginated dry bag area will be to be determined closer to race date. Waterman's, Chix, The Shack and Crush N' Run are not liable for lost or damaged items so please do not leave valuables in your dry bag. ​
  • Will spectators be able to view the finish?
    Yes. There will be plenty of space along the boardwalk to view the finish.
  • When and where is packet pick-up?
    Packet pick-up takes place over two days on race weekend. Friday, April 4th, 2024 from 4-7PM at The Shack on 8th and Saturday, April 5th (race day) from 8-10AM. We highly encourage everyone to pick up their packets on Friday pick up as lines for race day pick up are typically long. Please do not wait until the last minute to get your packet - packet pick-up will be busy and backed up!!
  • Can I have my ID checked during packet pick-up to get that out of the way prior to the after-party?
    Yes! If you plan to enjoy any alcoholic beverages during the after-party, your ID must be checked. This can be done during packet pick-up, where you will receive a wristband once your ID has been verified. This wristband must be worn from the time you receive it until the time you leave the party, so if you choose to have your ID checked during packet pick-up, you will wear your wristband overnight (and they're waterproof, so you can shower with it on)!
  • Can I register on race day?
    Yes, registration will be $45 on race day and you may sign up by using your cell phone and registering on our website in person or signing up at home before you come to pick up your packet!
  • Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
    Yes, as long as they have a paper copy of your photo ID, and a printed letter signed by you providing permission for that person to pick up your packet – NO EXCEPTIONS. You may pick up a family member’s race packet as long as your last name is the same and you have your ID.
  • Where is the starting line?
    The starting line will be on the beach in front of Chix on 7th Street!
  • Will the race be timed?
    Yes. The race will be timed by EnMotive and there will be corrals so if you are a fast runner, you want to be in the first corral!
  • Is the race corralled?
    Yes, the 5K will use corrals. The corrals are split randomly upon arrival to the start line so if you are a faster runner, plan to arrive earlier and make your way to the front of the corrals.
  • Where is the water station located?
    For the 2024 race, the water station will be available at 27th street on the boardwalk and water will be available at the finish line.
  • Are pets allowed during the race?
    No. Pets are not allowed on the course. This is for the safety of our runners and pets as well as an insurance liability.
  • Are headphones and/or cell phones allowed during the race?
    Headphones and listening devices are allowed on the course. Please be alert and courteous to people and vehicles around you.
  • Are baby joggers allowed during the race?
    Due to the sand run portion of this event, baby joggers and strollers are not allowed during the race.
  • Will spectators be able to get into the after-party?
    Yes! Spectators and non-runners are able to enter into the after-party for $10.
  • What's with this after party?
    Well according to runners, it is the BEST race after party EVER. We close down 8th Street to expand the party area, and with Crushes flowing, lawn games set up around the property and live entertainment all day long, you won't want to miss out. The gates open at 10:30am, and the main event and live music will be rocking til 6pm. Food, beer and mixed drinks will be available for purchase throughout the day.
  • If I'm running the race, what do I need to bring to get into the after party?"
    You must be wearing your race bib to gain free entry to the party. Your bib will also act as your ticket for your one (1) free Orange Crush, but you must enter the after-party by 1:00pm to receive the free Crush. Save time at the entrance by having your ID verified during packet pick-up! If you don't have it verified, then we will need to check your ID at the main gates before you receive your free crush!
  • What if I don't want to race but still want to go to the party?
    Tickets will be available for $10 at Waterman's, Chix, and The Shack for those who want to attend the after party, but not run the race. Capacity is limited. To guarantee entry into the after party, then you better sign up for the race... plus you'll get a free Orange Crush if you register! Ticket sales opening soon!
  • Is the after party family-friendly?
    The Crush N' Run after-party will be an all-ages event until 6:00pm. After 6:00, the event will transition to a 21+ only event. ​
  • Will my results be posted?
    Yes! Results wil lbe posted the following week of Crush N' Run! You can also scan the QR code on your race bib to view your race time.
  • What are the overall awards and prizes?
    Awards will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female athletes upon conclusion of the race. The 1st Place Male and 1st Place Female runners will also receive a brand new Hamilton Beach professional-grade juicer (aka "crush machine")! Prizes will also be given for Best Costume, so get creative with that Crush-inspired running gear! The BIGGEST TEAM award is their choice of a local charity for CNR to send a $500 donation! The top 3 males and top 3 females will be determined by who crosses the finish line first. The timing is managed by your chip provided by EnMotive, but if you want a prize, then be sure to be at the front of the first corral on the beach. If you run faster than the first 3 males or first 3 females that cross the finish line, but you started in the middle corral, then you will be listed before them on the results page, but you will not be the winner of a prize. Get to that finish line first and fast!
  • Will there be an awards ceremony?
    Yes! The Crush N'Run 5K awards ceremony will be held during the after-party at The Shack around 12:00pm.
